The Palms Grand Resort And Spa is beautifully located on the British territory Islands of Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean. The Islands are an archipelago country of eight major islands and numerous uninhabited cays located 575 miles south of Miami and 39 miles southeast of the Bahamas, known for beautiful beaches, pristine coral reefs for diving and fishing, and offshore banking. The Palms Resort And Spa is sited on the Island known as Provenciales. The team including the architects, developers and SWA placed great emphasis on generating a master plan that would provide a sense of synchronization and simplicity between all aspects of the project program yet retain the Old British Colonial architecture that is characteristic of the islands and the project architecture. In addition to the existing high-end private residences, the program includes the addition of a Manor House, which acts as the heart of the resort community welcoming all visitors upon arrival. A symmetrical layout was found to be the most successful option to unify all the program elements. The main entry leads to the Manor House where is splits to enclose the Manor House, retail shops, the restaurant and the formally designed courtyard they enclose. Additional driveways lead to the restaurant drop offs and ultimately the private garages that are designed to resemble classic British carriage houses. The private residences surround the curvilinear pool and deck, the dining terrace and the pool bar. The project also includes intimate courtyards, dinning terraces, and fountains.
