Yu-Chung Li, RLA (CA #6183), ASLA
Yu-Chung’s diverse background in the fields of civil engineering, urbanism, and landscape architecture exposes him to the intersecting relationships among humans and nature, science and art, logic and intuition, at various scales. From large parks, campuses, urban plazas to site furniture, he passionately explores the possibilities in shaping our world and brings them into reality with thoughtful details.
Yu-Chung’s design approach is dialectical and inclusive. He investigates the best route to solve complex challenges with evidence, logic, and instinct. He sees design as a way of thinking; every project has its own restrictions and inherited context, which evolve into the unique textures of each project. This perspective informs the design journey, responding to unique localities and circumstances.
Yu-Chung’s design focuses on people. He believes that quality outdoor space is a basic need for people to support everyday life. Landscape is not only the beautiful backdrop of human activity; it is the essential wheel driving life-changing economic and social improvements.
