Sean O’Malley

Managing Principal, Laguna Beach

“The city is our imprint upon this planet. How we plan and develop them will determine our collective survival.”

As an urban designer, planner, and landscape architect, Sean’s approach draws upon the strength of site and utilizes natural structures as a framework for city-building. He taps the biological sciences to create sustainable landscapes that respond to both the environment and human condition. Sean has worked throughout the US, South America, Europe, and Asia. He received his Master of Urban Design with Distinction from Harvard University, and Bachelors of Science in Landscape Architecture with Distinction from the School of Environmental Design, California State Polytechnic University. He continues to teach urban design studio regularly at Cal Poly, and lectures on the connection between nature and our cities.
