Maribel Amador
Maribel joined SWA in 2007 as Houston’s office manager. Her role expanded from office management to include project participation in a number of SWA community outreach and engagement projects, including Spring Branch Comprehensive Plan, Baton Rouge Lakes, and Airline Market Mile Livable Centers Study. To these public engagement events, Maribel brings her attention to detail, ability to communicate well with others, and interest in social impact design, assisting SWA projects achieve an integrated design process that aids in aligning user and project goals. Additionally, Maribel’s background in film has been instrumental in documenting some of SWA’s completed projects. Her project photography aims to tell the story of each built environment and to capture how users interact with the space and the impact the space has on its users. As part of her office management role, Maribel has lead the planning efforts for several SWA events such as salons, open house events, summer internship programs, office retreats, and even the management and construction administration of the Houston office renovations.
Maribel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Moving Image Arts from the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico. After college, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. During her time in Los Angeles, Maribel worked in Creative Affairs and Development at Disney Feature Animation (Circle 7 Animation), as well as in Motion Picture Talent, Literary and Business Affairs at Creative Artists Agency.
