Daniel Affleck

Associate Principal

Daniel joined SWA in March of 2012. He earned dual master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in architecture and landscape architecture, and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Skidmore College. As a registered landscape architect, Daniel’s work focuses on the design of culturally significant public spaces in complex social and ecological contexts. His recent project work includes the Sandy Hook Memorial, which was awarded through an international competition. He has received recognition for recent competition entries, including for AIA’s Governors Island City of Dreams Pavilion, the Sucker Punch International Ideas Competition, and AIA New York’s High Bridge Competition, and also received the ASLA Sierra Chapter Friends of Fremont Park Award and UPenn Schenk Woodman Prize. When not at work, Daniel loves to paint, hike, and cook.
