“One big challenge is getting municipalities and counties to prioritize equity in their policies. When you look at nature-based water solutions alongside large scale infrastructure for flood mitigation efforts, we still don’t know how equity plays into it. Who was brought to the table in devising these solutions?”
Danielle joined Galveston Bay Foundation in August 2019. She graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2019 and received her bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Geography and Environmental Studies with a minor in GIS from the University of Toronto in 2014. During her time at Georgia Law, Danielle interned at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 4 office and served as a Georgia Sea Grant Legal Fellow working on coastal resiliency projects. As a member of the Texas Living Waters Project, she works on water conservation and flood mitigation projects to help ensure a healthy and vibrant Galveston Bay.
